Star Wars Crochet - the second book

Good news! I'm currently working on patterns for a second Star Wars Crochet pattern book. I'm afraid I can't give away much information yet, not even which characters will feature in it, but I thought I'd let you know.

You are fantastic. Thanks for sharing your wonderful patterns! I cannot wait to hear more details (especially expected release date) and to buy your next pattern book.

This is amazing timing. Yesterday I finished the very last pattern (I've done all 12 in the book, the five on Etsy, the Salacious Crumb on your blog, and a Lando Calrissian I made based loosely on the Han and Luke patterns). My coworkers would have been so disappointed to find out that they wouldn't find any new Star Wars dolls on my cubicle walls anymore. :)

Thanks! I'll keep updating as and when I can.

I just got ridiculously excited over this! I'm still working through the first book and I've done Salacious Crumb. They're so cute!

THanks! I'm having a lot of fun designing new characters.

So excited to know you´re working on a new Star Wars book. Already have the first one, and was about to get the 4 (or 5 ?) pattern pack on Etsy, but sadly is no longer available...why ??Please let us know as soon as you get this book done !!

I can't sell patterns that are going to be in the book, or are very similar to ones that will be in the book, that's why those patterns are no longer available in my Etsy shop.

Do you recommend any particular sellers for buying extra toy eyes and what size are the ones included in your last book?

LucyRavenscar said...

The eyes in the kit are 7.5mm (each pattern lists the size of eye you need). I buy most of my safety eyes from Craftbits (www.craftbits.co.uk/), here's a useful list of suppliers around the world: www.planetjune.com/eyesources

Hi Lucy, I finally received the Star Wars Crochet kit and have made R2D2, Yoda and I'm working on Wicket. They are so special. My problem is that I'm not sure exactly where to attach (or how) the arms to Wickets body. If you could elaborate on this for me, that would be great.

My son took us to see the latest Star Wars movie and I just heard you will be doing a 2nd collection Book. That is so exciting. Please keep me informed when they will be available. Thanks so much.

So exciting! Cannot wait!

Janet, you should sew Wicket's arms to his body just below his head on either side. Pin each one in place to check that you've got them arranged evenly and when you're happy with the position use the yarn still attached to each arm to sew them on. Sew through the stitches on the last round and into the body.

I'm so so excited for this!! I actually came here today to see if you had mentioned or made patterns for the newer SW movie(s). (I won't ask, though, I know you can't say too much.) A child I know has been asking me if I could make a Rey. Hope springs eternal. Can't wait to see what you come up with!

My only question is -- will the patterns in the new book be compatible/similar in size to the previous ones?

LucyRavenscar said...

Thanks, I'm dying to be able to share all the details! Yes, the new patterns will be at the same scale as the old ones.

Thanx so much for these patterns. I made the first batch for my granddaughter for Christmas. I have been crocheting for forty years, but found these abit daunting at first. The second batch is coming easier. Can't wait for the Rey doll.

Thanks, I'm glad you're getting the hang of it!

Where can I find the pattern for Obi-Wan Kenobi - Star Wars Mini Amigurumi ?

LucyRavenscar said...

I can't sell any patterns that might end up in the book, Obi-Wan is one of them.

This explains why I can no longer get the obi wan pattern. I bought the book and found the obi wan pattern on ravelry. I was disappointed it wasn't in the book and as I'm making the set for my cousin's birthday in May and figured I'd buy the separate pattern once I'd worked through the book. Such a shame the gift will be incomplete :-( exciting that another book will be available though.

Kudos Lucy, on your nicely written patterns, my daughter bought the book thinking her 7 year old son would be able to read the directions and learn to crochet. He's been asking me to teach him ever since he was 4 lol but I only see him one week each year. Although he shows great interest , he gives up quickly. Bottom line they sent me the kit and I'm having a blast making them for him. My problem is I cannot find the dk3 light yarn here in Michigan 😢 At least not the colors needed. So I'm using red heart super saver , of course this makes the characters much larger I'd prefer them to be tiny , darn it my heart is broken . I also will be looking forward to your next book, congrats on a job well done!

Thanks! My son showed a bit of interest in crochet, but he only got the hang of making a chain before he gave up. Have you tried looking for yarn online? I'm afraid I don't know much about buying yarn in the US, but I get most of mine online here in the UK. I've put lots of detail about the yarn I used on this blog post: http://lucyravenscar.blogspot.co.uk/2015/12/star-wars-crochet-yarn-used.html

i was wondering.... is there any way i can just purchase the book? i loved the first one, i make tons of those! and would love the second one, but dont want the kit... the yarn in it is garbage.

LucyRavenscar said...

I'm afraid it's only available as a kit so far, but who knows if they might release it in a different way sometime in the future.

Unknown said...

Hi Lucy I saw your comment that it's available as a kit now. Where do I order it??? Thanks.

LucyRavenscar said...

If you live in the US I think it should be available in craft and book stores, it's also on Amazon (https://www.amazon.com/Star-Wars-Even-More-Crochet/dp/1626868336). If you live elsewhere you may still be able to get it from your local Amazon if they import it.
